#1 Burnout Prevention Tip
Quick note on FOMO in your career…. FEAR OF MISSING OUT *FOMO* IS A BAD EXCUSE FOR YOUR BURNOUT.
There, I said it! Don't hate me, I am being so real and honest with you.
...and, I am totally calling the overachievers & over-committers out.
Here's the thing: I used to be this way too.
I would say YES to opportunities, projects, and committees because I was scared of missing out on opportunities.... or, even worse, scared of being left out of the inside crowd.
Even though I knew in my heart I never even WANTED those titles or opportunities, I just thought that doing less would hold me back in my career.
UGH.
Then, my dad died, I lost everything, and life got real.
I could no longer do everything. I had to reprioritize and shift gears. I had to pick up more work to keep up with my finances and my personal life.
Moral of the story: Do not wait until you have a mental breakdown or a major life crisis for this to be you, PLEASE!
Goal: Shift saying YES out of obligation and fear to YES with intention & excitement. This is your ticket to freedom.
You are not alone.
