5 things to quit doing right now

Good morning,

In order for July to be our best month in 2020, we need to quit the negative habits we’ve been picking up in the beginning part of 2020…  So, here are my top 5 things you need to quit doing in order to live your best life beginning TODAY.

5 Things to Quit Doing Right Now:

1) Spending $ without a guaranteed ROI. Spending $$$$ on programs, courses, certifications, online programs, conferences, trainings, etc. that are not guaranteeing a significant ROI is not bringing you closer to your goals, and it might be a source of overwhelm for you - OR just another thing to add to your growing "to do" list. Just because we are in a pandemic does NOT mean you need to go get that MBA you’ve thought about. Does investing >$50,000 in going back to school 150% GUARANTEE your success? If yes, then DO IT.

2) Trying to please everyone around you. That is not going to cut it. In order to live your best life, it begins with you being YOURSELF. People pleasers always come in last place because they are putting others in front of their own desires, which is exhausting and potentially leads to resentment. Also, people pleasers end up burned out just by following what everyone is doing around them, and not doing what YOU want to do.

3) Reading Another Self-Help book. Before you make another amazon book purchase consider: reading your notes about the book you just read first, apply the knowledge you learned in the self-help book before you purchase another one, continue to practice what works best for you, and commit to creating healthier & more consistent habits before you pick up another book.

4) Being disorganized. Being intentional about how you spend your time and energy is key to working less and playing more and being disorganized gets in the way of us maximizing our already busy schedules…. when we aren’t intentional with our time, we end up with “never having any time.” In order to have time on our side, we need to be efficient with where we spend our time. Being organized and prioritizing your tasks are KEY to being more intentional with your time.

5) Doing life ALONE. AND NO - I don’t mean without a partner or a significant other, that’s not my area of expertise. I mean without trusted people on your side. So many of my clients feel an incredible amount of SHAME when they reach out to me for support. Doing life alone is really boring, lonely, not strategic, and un-fun (is that a word?).  Gain a trusted community of friends and experts who have your back no matter what. Surrounding yourself with a diverse community who wants to see you thrive in your life is your TICKET to living your best life.
