Silence is not an option

If there is one thing you should know about me it is that I don’t shy away from the issues that matter the most, and racial injustice, lack of equity in our country, & systemic racism are no exceptions here.

On behalf of the RX Ashlee company, below are the immediate steps I have taken to combat systemic racism in this country and beyond:

  • Investing in training and coaching on combatting racism and promoting business equity & diversity. One of the first courses I enrolled in is called “Show Up & Serve – A workshop for White Coaches” led by Trudi Lebron – her info can be found here: https://www.trudilebron.com/

  • The CV and resumé workshop and online course that I am releasing later this summer will be at ZERO cost to everyone who enrolls– no further commitment from anyone who signs up is required.

  • Inside the Career by Design Community, I’ve taken immediate action to offer more affordable payment plans so that more professionals can have access to high quality career support. I am also in the process of creating videos specifically stating that this community is committed to social injustice and anti-oppression, and that we serve all clients of all races, ethnicities, and genders. More information on payment options for Career by Design can be found here: https://rxashleecourse.com/

  • I am in the process of creating video content that explicitly, intentionally, and directly states that all RX Ashlee communities are inclusive to all people of color; there will be a Zero Tolerance Policy for upholding this. This will be posted on my website, in my blog, as well as on all of my online courses, workshops, and digital programs.

  • I am committed to providing a stronger platform and voice for men and women of color; this means more guest experts, more podcast guests, more marketing campaigns, more collaborations, more virtual events, and more Instagram take overs with people of color.

  • I am committed to asking more questions about speaker line-ups before agreeing to speak at events. I am committed to decline the speaking opportunity at an event (online or offline) if diverse representation is not included or considered.

  • I am committed to only working with affiliate companies, businesses, freelancers, or vendors that are also taking proactive, intentional, and explicit steps to combat racism.

  • RX Ashlee will continue to provide annual scholarships to men or women of color, as I have done previously.

Lastly, to continue to elevate the Black community's voices, until further notice all of my marketing campaigns and promotions have been placed on pause.

This is only the beginning, and I will admit it is far from perfect and I have a lot of learning & unlearning to do. I am committed to providing & nurturing a safe, objective, non-biased community where all people of color feel seen, valued, comfortable, supported, welcomed, and loved.

It is a historic moment to ask yourself: How can I do more?

Thank you for your support.

Always with you,

Ash
